School Finder Tips

The School Finder lets you combine characteristics of colleges that are most important to you in a search for matching schools. If students find their School Finder results seem overwhelming, with too many schools to sort through, suggest they break their search down step by step.

For best results in the School Finder, start with the characteristic that is most important to you. Make your selection on the next screen, scroll to the bottom, click See Your Matching Schools and look up to see how many schools match. Next click the second most important characteristic, make your selection, click See Your Matching Schools, then notice that the number of schools listed at the top has dropped.

If the number drops to zero, you need to remove one or more characteristics by clicking on it, then unchecking the box and clicking See Your Matching Schools again.
