XAP Corporation Launches Oklahoma Transitions Student Center, Providing More Access to Higher Education Statewide

CULVER CITY, Calif. — (May 7, 2014) — Educational technology leader XAP Corporation launched OKcollegestart.org for the state of Oklahoma. The site is a significant resource for college and career planning assistance for students – beginning as early as middle school – parents, adult learners, and educators throughout the state.

As a Transitions-based site,OKcollegestart.org has a new design, expanded features, and purposeful tools (e.g., college planning, testing, financial aid, career assessment, and more) for a variety of users. The new site is enhanced with Oklahoma-specific content, and users can easily recognize where to find information and resources that relate to their needs. The technology company will manage and maintain the site, and ensure the content remains current.

“OKcollegestart.org provides students with a one-stop shop to learn about, apply to and pay for college,” said Chancellor Glen D. Johnson.

“OKcollegestart.org provides students with a one-stop shop to learn about, apply to and pay for college,” said Chancellor Glen D. Johnson. “The state of Oklahoma has made great strides toward increasing access and facilitating transitions from secondary to postsecondary education. The enhancements to this site support our Complete College America goal to increase the number of degrees and certificates earned in Oklahoma by 67 percent by 2023.”

In May 2013, the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education (OSHRE) awarded to XAP the contract from a Request for Proposal (RFP) to enhance their Student Information Portal. The company worked closely with representatives from the State Regents Office to ensure the features, content, and variety of tools for the new site delivered targeted support and resources important for the many people that use the site.

“The new Transitions Student Center for Oklahoma is a united effort between the Oklahoma State Regents and XAP Corporation to develop a comprehensive system that can meet current expectations for students, parents, and educators in the state who want tools, information, and access to higher education,” said Peter Knepper, XAP’s Chief Executive Officer, “but we also must keep pace with the expanding needs of the students and educators, and changes in the education marketplace in general,” he added.

“XAP has worked to stayed at the forefront creating efficient statewide student-information systems,” Kneppler stated. “We’re thankful to the Oklahoma State Regents for trusting in our expertise and experience, and involving XAP in the process to develop this system for the state and provide the ongoing support.”
